Ballinalacken Castle Hotel is a charming 4 star hotel located close to the picturesque town of Doolin in County Clare. The hotel stands on the grounds of the ancient ruins of the 15th Century Ballinalacken Castle - if you ask the owner Denis O Callaghan nicely you might get the chance to climb the castle and see awe-inspiring views of the area from the top. This is a peaceful location brimming with history, culture and tradition. Take a walk around the grounds and appreciate the wonderful vistas of the Cliffs of Moher, the Atlantic Ocean, the Aran Islands and the rugged and windswept hills of Connemara.

Room Information

Our historic rooms have been beautifully restored to their original grandeur of Lord O'Brien's era. Each room offers an oasis of comfort and style and is individually designed to accentuate the magnificent ocean view. Some of our room features include antique furnishings, four poster beds, bathtubs and a working fireplace to cozy up to.

After a long day you can relax and enjoy our famous Atlantic sunset while sipping a pint of Guinness or a glass of wine. We have 12 guest rooms: 2 suites, 4 Superior Rooms and 6 Standard Rooms. All rooms have private facilities, telephones and hairdryers.

Food and Beverage

A full and extensive breakfast is served every morning from 8:00am - 10:00am in our restaurant. Our restaurant is open each evening from 6:45pm to 8:45pm (except Tuesday).

Please book in advance as reservations are advised. Also open to non-residents, who are most welcome. Kindly note that our restaurant is non-smoking.

Our chef Michael Foley combines his creative culinary skills with the freshest local ingredients to prepare his delectable cuisine. The Ballinalacken also offers an extensive wine list to compliment the food.
